Fuel Index
The purpose of the fuel price index is to keep Gulf Air customers and partners informed of changes in our fuel surcharge policy, based on fuel price fluctuations in the market.
The fuel price index is based on the average price of jet fuel from five worldwide markets (Rotterdam, Singapore, New York, Los Angeles and the Gulf Coast). The average fuel price is indexed against a baseline of US$0.5335 per US gallon. The index values for the last 6 months are presented below:

Actual surcharge values are set for each market individually, based on local regulatory and market conditions. Fuel surcharges are levied on actual weight, unless mandated otherwise by local legal requirements or national carrier practices.
